Painting Your Own Plastics?
I would like to paint my plastics a plain Mat Black and then put a large decal on the hood. I know I've seen a few threads on how to do it yourself I just can't seem to find them now.
If anyone has any suggestions that would be great. I've heard where you can do it anywhere from $45 to $200. Leaning towards the $45 job since for not much more then $200 I could probably find some plain black plastics. Any Ideas? |

here's what I would do,
use krylon fusion paint, clean with soap and water, wet sand w 600-800 grit or hit with red or green scotch brite pad then wipe down with acetone real good. let dry then paint; besure to follow directions on paint, 1st coat wait 2 to 3 min. and then another coat and so on. try to paint all at one time if not besure to wait 24 hours before adding another coat or you will have problems. ues duplicolor clear after painting if you want. should take 3 no more then 4 cans. |
