Here's a good site to check on the fire :

InciWeb the Incident Information System: Cottonwood

Lots of good info.

As of 6:00 AM the cause of the fire is still "Under Investigation"
From where it started I think most likley somebody tossed a cig. out of a car
They have 552 personal on the fire
And only 10% containment
hwy . 74 still closed

Here's a map of the burn area :

https://165.221.39.44/ftp/InciWeb/CA...-102636-0.jpeg

Not as bad as I would of thought
Most of the fire went thru the lower hills , trails and to the East
Today :::: 75 % contained / 767 personal / 2400 acres burned

Here's a picture of part of the burn area
It's not as bad as I would of thought

Didn't go to much past Shotgun Flats ( helicopter pad )

This picture is from the switchbacks looking down toward staging area and Hwy .74

nice view up there (except the fire damage)
I've never considered hitting up that area, but I think I may have to now.
